First Baptist Church of Clayton Child Development Center is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and compassionate person for the part-time position of Child Development Center Assistant Director.  Our mission is to nurture children with the love of Jesus Christ and create for them a Christ-centered educational environment where each child can learn and grow.

The assistant director will:

• Be responsible for aiding the Director in supervising the overall operations of the Center, including staffing, curriculum, and administrative responsibilities
• Work approximately 30 hours per week, closing the Center every day at 6:00pm
• Report directly to the Director and indirectly to the Child Development Center Oversight Committee
• Serve as an ambassador for the Center in the Clayton community and will employ varied and effective outreach and marketing approaches to promote and encourage new families to enroll

All candidates must

• Be a Christian and reflect Christian principles in all behavior and actions
• Be 21 years old and have North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential (NCECAC) or two years of experience in a licensed child care center or early childhood work experience, and working toward obtaining NCECAC.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work as a team player
• Have excellent management skills, including planning, directing, and supervising
