Plant Delights Nursery, Inc., . (www.plantdelights.com), a retail mail order perennial plant nursery,has an open position for a permanent full-time Maintenance and Facilities Specialist.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in facilities and maintenance work.  Preferably in a nursery/greenhouse setting.

Compensation: $31,000 – $35,000 + benefits

Qualified candidates MUST:

  • Demonstrate skill and proficiency with carpentry, electrical, irrigation, plumbing, basic equipment maintenance and small engine repair.
  • Perform and/or oversee all construction projects and all company repairs, both interior and exterior.
  • Be able to maintain all nursery greenhouses and facilities in optimal working order.
  • Maintain the nursery and garden irrigation system, wells and pumps.
  • Be able to assess, troubleshoot and make necessary repairs in a timely, cost effective manner.
  • Have a working knowledge of computer spreadsheets for tracking and prioritizing all open projects.
  • Have good communication skills with the ability to work well with others as well as independently.
  • Possess good manual dexterity, be able to walk, bend, kneel, occasionally lift heavy items and be outside for extended periods of time in varying weather including heat and cold.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
